A rare Solid Brass Cased Australian made WWII Circa 1941 Military field pocket watch, made in Australia with a Swiss 15 Jewel Montilier Calibre 61 Movement
Produced in Australia by J.W.Hardie in a short period at the beginning of WWII when supplies of Waltham, Elgin and Handley Military pocket watches out of Canada, England and the US had not yet hit Australian shores. Case is manufactured in solid brass with black painted finish, designed originally to also affix to and mount on the side of the Australian Military field Wireless set No. 11.
Marked to back with J.W.H for J.W.Hardie with V below denoting manufacture in Victoria. Serial Number 6036. Movement is marked Swiss Made, 15 Jewels and Movement Serial number is under the main spring wheel
Watch winds and sets perfectly and is running well, holding good time. Overall in Excellent condition.
