In 1964 Tokyo brought the greatest athletes for the Olympic Games and Seiko brought to the world the 6217-7000 wrist watch.
Seiko commemorate the games with the world time and also embossed the case back with the Olympic torch.
An example of the Seiko 6217-7000 is this wrist watch from December 1964. The silvery white linen dial is bordered by split, bi-colour 24-hour track in a 37mm case and framed by a non-shiny silver rotating city of the world bezel with a sleek red trim.
After half a century of use the case back is quite worn as is typical of these etched designs.
Unpolished and completely original aside from a replacement band it is truly a wonderful example,
and a perfect opportunity to add a piece of true Seiko history to any collection.
All functions operate correctly, the inner rotating bezel turns smoothly
The watch has great investment potential especially with the Summer Olympic Games returning to Tokyo in 2020.
