Movado Fabriques/Factories, a most famous watch manufacturer started by Achilles Ditesheim in 1881, first named Movado in 1905, and still in business today. This late 1930's watch is from the period many collectors think Movado were at their best, winning timing awards both at Kew and in Neuchatel.
A fine looking watch in good original condition, especially the dial and the case size is 34mm.
Detailed three-part case with gold body and snap-on back, with pink (rose) 18ct gold bezel and gold capped lugs of unusual and stylish form, with pin-set pushers for altering the date at 2 and 4. Cal:475 15-jewel movement. Silver dial with gold hands and numerals, with aperture for day and month (in French), with concentric steel hand indicating the date.
